You don’t have to look very hard to figure out why. Combine the lighting fast accessibility of online shopping and the sizeable 2500 square feet of the average American home, and you have your answer.
Those are just a few of the startling statics about clutter. However, I’m hoping they were enough to get your attention and make you ask yourself if you need to start decluttering.
What Does ‘Decluttering’ Mean?
Decluttering means the intentional act of identifying and removing items that are no longer useful or necessary.
It’s a little more involved than just tidying up and putting things away, but a lot less involved than adopting a minimalistic lifestyle.
It’s about letting go and getting rid of the things that don’t serve you in a positive way. It involves physically removing those items from your home so they aren’t likely to resurface again.

The truth is, you can start anywhere you like. The ‘where’ really doesn’t matter as long as you actually start. Without taking that first step, you’ll never make any progress.
If you really can’t pick an area or room, start right where you are. Whatever room you’re currently standing in is your starting place.
